Breast Milk Soap

You know that scene in the movie Fight Club where we learn that the soap the main character is selling is made from human fat cells…I remember being so grossed out by that and thought, “only in the movies.”

Well, turns out it’s happening in real life, only this soap is made from breast milk instead of fat cells. Gross!

The full recipe is on Traditionalmidwife.com and while I applaud her ingenuity, I’m not down with breast milk soap. Yes, breast milk is a miracle potion, liquid gold as we say in our house. And, about as scarce as a precious metal, too. I can’t imagine having 6 cups of *extra* breast milk to use in soap rather than feed to my baby…but that’s just me.
