Mini Skirts OK For Over 35
WHAT? You mean I can still bare my legs even though I’m nearly ancient? OK, I might not actually be ancient, in fact I bet 35 is the new 25, but still, I’ve been wondering how short my skirt can go now that I’m closing in on 40. Apparently I can go short – like just barely touching the fingertips short.
For the younger set, short and sassy is good – look for statement fabrics or otherwise eye catching skirts and pair it with plain tops to tone it down. For us older women (older and wiser, I hope I hope), short skirts that are made of more traditional fabric, maybe even high waisted, will class up the look some. Think tweed, wool and silk. And, for the over 40 crowd, shorts skirts are good with opaque tights! So yes ladies, raise those hemlines.
My two cents: I’d still refrain from wearing short skirts to the playground, what with all that bending and stooping one must do. THAT wouldn’t be good.
You know, as an aside, when I was in high-school, the nuns at my school used to make kneel so they could verify that our skirts reached to our knees! Wow that was a long time ago.
