I spend most of my time in the kitchen – it’s a workspace, a playroom, and, oh yeah, I prepare food there too. So I’m always fascinated by new kitchen designs and the new Oniris really blew my mind.

Oniris is a design concept from Nelly De Macedo that integrates cutting edge technology into every facet of the kitchen. The central console includes an induction cooking plate, storage cabinet and sensor-controlled faucet. For small homes, the ability to combine dining, washing, cooking and storage into one area is incredibly practical – and it looks great.

The most amazing part of the Oniris design is the UFO-looking chandelier that contains a motion-sensor camera, LED lights, and a projector. The projector can be programmed to display recipes on the countertop while you cook and then display a photo or animation when you sit down for the meal.

I haven’t seen any pricing for the Oniris, so I assume it’s still in the design stage at this point.

Now all the Oniris needs is a robot to clean up all the food your kids will throw over the side. Sadly, that part will have to wait.
