Out of Diapers – Go See the Nanny Caddy

How many times have I been caught out and about without wipes or diapers? Usually it happens when we’re a long way away from either the house or a store and my girl has a big poop. Nice! Or rather, I realize it then, poop oozing out and me helpless and hopeless…it actually happens more often than I care to admit. If we had a Nanny Caddy near us, I’m certain I’d be visiting it often.

First off, you might want to simply say to me, “hey, take a moment and re-fill the diaper bag, lady” to which I would say you are right. But in my defense, one of my baby’s most favorite games is dismantling the darn thing, peppering the ground with the sunscreen, lip balm, hand sanitizer and diapers. Don’t even get me started on the wipes – she pulls them out like the jack in the box they are, one after the other they keep popping up tempting her to just pull.

So then we have no wipes. At least no wet wipes because they have all been drying in a pile near her.

What is this Nanny Caddy, you ask? It’s a vending machine with diaper bag goodies instead of junk food goodies. Kinda like those entertainment kiosks you see in the airport, only filled with baby items. Select target market to be sure. I mean you wouldn’t find one of these in a sports bar, now would you?

But you will find them in museums (great idea!), zoos and even some airports. Mostly on the East Coast, but there are a few in the South and West.

It might be a while before these vending machines take off around the country, but for those of you lucky enough to live where you can be as forgetful as we mommies can be, then I’d memorize the various Nanny Caddy locations so you can find on the go help!

What a great idea! I think I would take advantage of such a thing. Comes a time when you run out. You simply do. Even organized ones amoung us. Take my husband, as an example. he wants to never run out of pampers. So he bought it by the caseload. Guess what? those used up as well at some point.

Beyond brilliant!! Tell me where I can invest in this idea, because it’s sure to pay off! Great use of vending machines!

Wow, what an awesome idea! With all the “necessities” I have to remember to bring along for my toddler (e.g. snacks, drink, pacifier, diapers, wipes, paper pad, crayons, finger puppets, wind-up toy, and the list goes on…), I’m always bound to end up forgetting something. Not to mention, with a second baby on the way, I’ll soon have to remember to bring along twice the stuff. Coming across one of these vending machines would definitely be a holy moment!!
