With so many parents carting around iPhones, it’s surprising there aren’t more apps designed to entertain and inform the kids. What better way to settle your child down than to hand them your iPhone with an engaging and hopefully education app?
Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit organization behind Sesame Street has teamed up with design firm IDEO to launch the company’s first ever iPhone app. Called ‘Grover’s Number Special’, it features none other than Grover himself as a waiter and helps teach kids how to count.
In the app, Grover asks kids to help him prepare a meal in the kitchen. As ingredients fall from the sky you move a tray around to catch and count them. It’s a very cute app that looks like it will keep the kids entertained.
The app costs $2.99 and you can buy it here. You can also preview the app at IDEO.
