Like fresh veggies but don’t have the time (or inclination) to start a garden in your backyard? That’s OK, start one in your fridge. And no, I’m not talking about mold or other things you can inadvertently grow in any refrigerator. I’m talking about a fridge designed to actually grow plants.

Designed by Hanna Sandström with Green Fortune & Whirlpool, this handy dandy kitchen appliance makes it easy to always have fresh lettuce on hand, or at the very least, fresh herbs. You can either place lettuce that you bought at the store and prolong its life with the “terrarium” that in this fridge or you can nurture a plant from a seed.

Kind of wild in my book, but hey, you never know where this “organic” movement will take us…
