I stumbled upon a new website that seems specifically catered to me and I suspect to a number of you out there who want to give their kids quality products that are both good for your children and good for the environment. Oh, and that incorporate great design too!

Sparkability bills itself as offering better things for babies and kids and boy do they deliver. It all started when the founders became increasingly frustrated with the disposable, cheap products that flood the children’s market. Like some of us, they would dig and dig and find what they needed, but then they started to see the bigger picture.

Sparkability started offering a cohesive collection of things the founders, themselves, would buy. Essentially, they make it more efficient for you to find what you are looking for if you like quality products made with the environment in mind but still adhere to the principles of good design. It’s definitely worth a look.

OK, now I realize this is probably only for the kid who has just about everything, but I saw it and I thought I’d pass it along. If you’re looking for the perfect, indestructible chair that meshes with your contemporary home, then look no further…unless of course you’re on a budget, then this chair isn’t for you (or me!)

But, it’s way cool. Just look!

The Lou Lou Ghost Kid’s Armchair is a mini-version of Phillipe Starck’s famous chair. It’s made of the same transparent polycarbonate by Kartell as the grown up version.

Ahh, one can dream, right…

If you live in a densely populated city like New York, chances are you just don’t have enough room for baby stuff at your home. We all know that babies bring a barrage of stuff with them, but now the folks at Bloom have come up with some space saving designs that also look great.

I love the look of the Coco baby lounger. It’s made from a material called “plexistyle” and has a smooth self-rocking motion. It would look at home in even the sleekest downtown loft.

The Alma urban cot/crib is all about style, mobility and storage. Since it’s portable, the Alma makes a great alternative to those hideous pack-n-plays. Designed for small urban spaces, the Alma has a small footprint that fits perfectly into contemporary spaces.

The Otto children’s table has stylish curves and is made from formed plywood. The space saving design allows it to be tucked into a corner after the kids have played on it. The Otto is available in espresso and blonde wood.

For more stylish designs, check out the Bloom website.
