If you have kids, you know that sometimes they can be a pretty good excuse for getting out of work. Doctor’s appointments, recitals, sports teams – the reasons for leaving work are endless.

In case you didn’t realize it, your single co-workers are jealous. Not of the actual parenting – heck no! – but of the time you get off to spend with your kids.

Now your single co-workers have a trick up their sleeves – “The Office Kid.” Designed by self-described “20-something childless advertising drones”, the Office Kid kit includes built-in family paraphernalia: framed photos, hand-drawn cartoons of “the family” and the like.

For an extra fee you can get a fake doctors note saying your “kid” has the flu. You can even have your picture Photoshopped into a sports team photo, for that extra touch of authenticity.

The Office Kid’s founders describe the idea of the product like this:

As 20-something childless advertising drones we were all tired of the frequent excuses given by our coworkers for missing work. From kid’s practices to doctor’s appointments, we all shared a similar story. We were all screwed because we had no kids.

Now you get all the “benefits” of parenting without any of the real-world hassles. Brilliant!
