Trend Alert: Skinny, Light Wash Jeans?

Gwyneth Paltrow was sporting skinny, light wash jeans to the recent Stella McCartney fashion show. Seriously. OK, so I’m naturally opposed to this look because I went with it whole hog the first time around in the 80s, but it could be making a comeback now!

Not many people can get away with skinny jeans and fewer still can pull off a light wash. Talk about focusing all the attention on your butt and thighs and not necessarily in a good way. At least Gwyneth looks pretty good but then again, she would have to try damn hard to not look good.

My take on this whole thing – hopefully she’s just trying something out and no one will catch on. All I can say is that women with normal sized hips (like most of us moms) might be best served to let this trend (if it indeed becomes a trend) just blow on by.

My rule still holds true: if you participated in a trend the first time it came around, let it pass when it gets resurrected.
