What Lives on the Bottom of Your Purse?

Want to hear something gross? The bottom of your purse or diaper bag is more disgusting than the typical toilet seat. Turns out that when you lay your purse down you pick up all sorts of fecal mater and other bacteria that you don’t even want to think about. In fact, according to this month’s Parents Magazine, your purse is 70 times more likely than the average toilet seat to contain fecal matter and bacteria that causes staph infections.

So think twice about putting your bag on the kitchen counter or anywhere else that you’re likely to have food. Best to have a designated place for it, or better yet, suspend it from hook.
