You Know You’ve Been Around a Toddler For Too Long When…

Finally, I get a little quiet, alone time. I figure, I’ll head to to the office to write – then putter around the house doing whatever strikes me. How long as it been since I’ve just puttered?
As I open the office door, I literally start singing this song that my daughter loves. We sing it practically all the time. It goes like this…
Trot, trot, trot.
Go and never stop.
Pony you must gallop faster
If you want to please your master
Trot, trot, trot, trot, trot.
Go and never stop.
Could be that I’m always going, going, going, so the song resonates with me, too. Who knows?
So, as I walk in to the office to work I sing this out loud. Yes. Out loud. No baby. Just me. Nice.
Later I’m at the grocery store getting ice cream (I’m pregnant, remember, so ice cream is a new must have!). As I’m walking out the doors, you guessed it. Out loud I start singing, “trot trot trot.” Now I’m a little more concerned. I mean, I’m out in public with no baby to blame the outburst on. Just me.
I’ve become that woman.
